For over fifty years, LA Pride 🌈 has been a cornerstone of Los Angeles, celebrating and supporting the LGBTQIA+ community. Established in 1970, LA Pride has grown into one of the city’s most respected and influential events, promoting equality, inclusion, and acceptance. With legendary performances by artists like Megan Thee Stallion, Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Lopez, and Mariah Carey, LA Pride has become a vibrant and essential part of the city’s cultural fabric, highlighting the progress made while continuing to champion a future where everyone can live openly and authentically.

This year, British-born illustrator and artist Josh McKenna and I were tapped to create a completely new lewk for LA Pride. Taking inspiration from old Olympics typographic identities and retro campaign visuals, we put our heads down to produce every little thing for LA Pride 2024: branding, custom typography, character design, illustration, wayfinding, merch design, and more. I’m getting too tired of talking about this titan of a project, so why don’t I just show you?

Much kudos to

Wes and Alex, Ashley Osborn, Polk Imaging, Dana Pleasant, Amy Hanoa for the imagery.
NVE Experience Agency for bringing our creations to life.
LA Pride/Christopher Street West Association Inc. for trusting our vision.
