James Junk is the independent creative practice of, you guessed it, James Junk. James Junk (he/him) is the only graphic designer in Los Angeles. He fuses his design powers with commercial and cultural clients and causes who break the binary.

His specialty is not having a specialty. His work spans branding and art direction, packaging and print, type and illustration, digital and content, and video and motion. He’ll even do some wordplay and copywriting if you make him.

His clients are likewise raggle-taggle, coming from activism, tech, beauty, wellness, music, fashion, creative, and entertainment spaces. Select 🪜 clients include WIRED, Human Rights Campaign, iHeartRadio, Hinge, DoorDash, Equinox, ilovecreatives, and Impact. His agency experience and freelance game has been recognized by industry-leading sites, blogs, and organizations like It’s Nice That, Forbes, Fast Company, the Webby Awards, the Shorty Awards.

In 2023, his work was featured at the art exhibit 🏝️ Tropical Depression, curated by Dewey Saunders and Christopher Details. At the end of every month, he overshares about his life and job on 📡 chaos theory, his newsletter. He has created 🗃️ content for brands like Adobe, Hopscotch, and Stills. His work has been written about on 💻 It’s Nice That, INJECTION Magazine, Creative Review, GDUSA, VoyageLA, Shoutout LA, CanvasRebel.
